Center for Medical Outreach
The vast majority of Nepali people live in rural, mostly mountainous areas where there is little access to clean water or quality health care facilities. The sick often walk or are carried hours to days to reach ill-equipped health outposts. Many die unnecessarily of easily treatable diseases.
Our vision is to create a center for medical outreach at the Dream Center that, similarly to our border monitoring stations, works through local churches. We plan to deliver health care services to under-served populations by developing training programs for village health workers, who will oversee health outposts overseen by local subcommittees formed through local churches. We hope to find interested Western and Nepali volunteer nurses, pharmacists, and physicians who are willing to help develop our training curriculum and participate directly in the training of health-workers.
Our goal is to see the church be a representation of God’s compassion for His world by reaching out to their neighbors who need it most.
