Salvation Home
Location: Naranghat, Nepal
House parents: Sharad and Bimala
Year opened: 2005
Target group: Orphaned or abandoned children
Salvation Children’s Home is located in the southern flatlands of Nepal and was started in 2005. The home is under the care of it's house parents, Sharad and Bimala. Bimala, who grew up in a Children’s Home, was burdened by the needs of orphaned children and desired to one day open her own home to children in need. Together with her husband, she and Sharad foster an environment of love and caring that can be felt in the presence of the children.
Like other Tiny Hands homes, Salvation is not an orphanage with children waiting for adoption. Nor are the children hoping for a future opporunity to experience a family. It is itself a family--one where the children receive the love, attention, and affection they deserve. The size of the home, like all our homes, is purposely kept low to make sure this atmosphere is not compromised and the children are well cared for. The children all attend one of the area's best schools where they learn English and Nepali. They are also involved in their church where they learn of God’s great love for them.
