Target group: Orphaned or abandoned children
Peace Children’s home is located in Kathmandu, Nepal and began in 2003. It is a home for orphaned or abandoned children, as well as other children from families unable to care for them. Ratna and Jyoti, the parents of the home, had a vision for such a home for many years. They now live among these children, raising them in a home full of joy and love.
P
eace is a family, not an orphanage. The children eat, sing, play, and attend school together. The older children care for the younger ones, helping them to adjust to life at the home. Each night they join together for a time of singing and worship, guided by Ratna and Jyoti, but mostly led by the children themselves.
All the children currently attend a nearby school where they learn both English and Nepali and are being prepared to be leaders of their generation. The children are very excited about learning, and many of them frequently are at the top of their class. They are also very involved in a local church where they are part of a community of Christians committed to sharing the love of God in their surroundings.![]()
